School in the Pines is owned and operated by husband and wife team, Amanda and Joe Maisonneuve. Amanda, a Texas A&M graduate with a BBA, has been part of the school since her parents founded it in 1984. With extensive experience in child care and education, she initially ran a small summer camp program with her mom. Joe, who holds a BBA from the University of California, Riverside, joined the school in 1995, bringing his strong business and finance background to help launch their premier Summer Camp.
Amanda and Joe have four children: two adult sons and two teenage daughters. Their eldest son lives in Utah and works in the outdoor/rock climbing industry, while their younger son, a software engineer, lives in Austin with his wife and young daughter. Their teenage daughters were adopted from Haiti, a journey of faith and love that they cherish sharing. In their free time, Amanda, Joe, and their daughters enjoy traveling—especially on cruises to sunny destinations—attending church activities, and playing games together.

All our staff are highly qualified, passionate about working with children, and receive ongoing training, including CPR and First Aid. They also undergo FBI fingerprint background checks and have recent experience in teaching and child care.

Our families come from nearby neighborhoods, creating a close-knit environment and strong parent partnerships. Whether we’re close to home or near the office, our center is ideal for busy working families and easy to get to – for pick-up and drop-off or to stop in for a visit.
School in the Pines supports local Klein schools with donations and sponsorship; outreach and ministry programs; and two orphanages in Haiti that remain close to their heart
